Maine Recovery Collective provides a long-term, residential recovery experience deeply rooted in community, self-exploration, and personal transformation. Jungian-Inspired Depth Therapy – Exploring dream work, shadow integration, and personal transformation.
Trauma-Informed Counseling – Provided by licensed clinicians (LADC, CADC) using approaches such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy.
Expressive & Creative Arts Therapy – Utilizing journaling, music, storytelling, and art therapy as tools for self-expression.
Mindfulness and Somatic Practices – Breathwork, meditation, and body-centered techniques to support emotional regulation.
Reconnection & Purpose-Focused Living
Dislocation Theory Approach – Addressing addiction as a symptom of social fragmentation and helping residents rebuild relationships, purpose, and belonging.
Work & Volunteer Readiness – Assistance with employment, volunteer placements, and life skills to foster independence.
Personalized Goal Setting & Recovery Planning – Residents work with staff to create an individualized pathway to success.
Healing Through Nature, Movement & Contemplation
Outdoor Wellness Activities – Nature immersion, grounding exercises, and hiking for spiritual and physical renewal.
Rudolf Steiner-Inspired Healing Modalities – Including biodynamic gardening, eurythmy (movement-based therapy), and rhythm-based living.
Yoga & Movement Therapy – Offered by certified instructors to promote mind-body integration and trauma healing.
Meditation & Contemplative Practices – Regular guided meditation, prayer, and silence-based reflection sessions to deepen self-awareness.
Quarterly Contemplative Retreat at the Alcyon Center (Seal Cove, ME) – Every few months, three residents are selected to attend a three-day contemplative retreat at the Alcyon Center, engaging in spiritual rest, silence, and guided reflection.
Medical & Medication Support
Medication Management – Clients may continue medications prescribed by external providers.
Infectious Disease Awareness & Wellness Monitoring – Guided by our medical director, who ensures adherence to health and safety protocols.
Nutritional Wellness – Balanced meals that support physical, mental, and emotional healing.
Structure & Accountability
Daily & Weekly Routine – A structured schedule designed to promote consistency, self-care, and responsibility.
Randomized Drug Screening & Recovery Checkpoints – To ensure a commitment to long-term sobriety.
Conflict Resolution & Community Process Groups – Supporting open communication, emotional processing, and healthy relationships
Transportation & Community Integration
Scheduled Rides to Recovery Programming – We provide transportation to appointments, essential services, and structured programming during the early phases of treatment.
Nightly AA/NA Meetings – Residents are transported to off-site 12-step meetings to foster engagement with the broader recovery community.
Group Outings & Recreational Activities – Regular community-based activities, volunteer opportunities, and wellness outings to support holistic recovery.
Public Transportation Support – Residents receive bus passes to help them navigate transportation independently, fostering self-sufficiency as they progress in their recovery.
Hiking on Mackworth Island
