Our mission

Maine Recovery Collective is dedicated to serving those suffering from Substance Use Disorder in the state of Maine. We aim to support our resident’s through the hard work of self-discovery to produce lasting change. We do this by utilizing clinical and holistic modalities that attend to each resident’s emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

Testimonials

  • “I had a beautiful experience at MRC. I have tried and failed to stay sober many times in many different programs. I was desperate, and MRC showed me a new way of life. The staff connected with me on a personal level and guided me every step of the way. They helped me understand addiction and how to free myself from the obsession and compulsion to drink and use drugs. A few months in they sent me to the Alcyon Center, a meditative retreat. The spiritual exercises we did there were very simple, but indescribably impactful and deeply personal. That weekend solidified everything I had been learning at MRC. I came away with deeper connection to my higher power, and a renewed sense of self worth. Although sober living can be challenging at times, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to guide me. When things got tough, the staff were there to support me, while instilling core values, like honesty, integrity, and how to be God centered. I’m incredibly grateful for the experience I had at MRC.”

  • "I am happy to say I was apart of Maine Recovery Collective! This was my first experience in sober living, and it was what I needed! I was surrounded with strong woman from whom I learned so much. I not only learned what recovery looks like, but how it looks different for everyone. Living in this house helped me trust women more and learn how to ask for help. I’m so grateful I was able to have an experience like I did in this house and I still carry a lot of the structure I had in these houses in my own home and recovery today!"

    - BRIDGET P. CELEBRATED 2 YEARS OF RECOVERY ON 01/09/25

  • “My journey toward sobriety was not merely a cessation of substance use, but a profound excavation of self. Before encountering Aletheia, I was adrift. Aletheia, however, proved to be more than a mere recovery residence; it was a crucible for transformation. The environment fostered at Aletheia is one of intellectual rigor and compassionate support. It is not enough to simply abstain; one must cultivate a life of meaning and purpose. The program's emphasis on introspection, coupled with the application of practical, evidence-based strategies, allowed me to dismantle the cognitive distortions that had long held me captive. The staff, possessing both expertise and genuine empathy, guided me through the arduous process of self-discovery. They didn't merely offer platitudes, but facilitated a deep dive into the underlying causes of my addiction, equipping me with the tools necessary for sustained recovery. The community formed within Aletheia is a testament to the power of shared experience, a network of individuals committed to mutual growth and accountability. Today, I stand as a testament to the efficacy of Aletheia's approach. My life is no longer defined by the relentless pursuit of fleeting gratification, but by the pursuit of enduring value. I have rediscovered my intellectual curiosity, rebuilt fractured relationships, and found a sense of purpose that had long eluded me. For this, I am profoundly grateful. Aletheia provided not just a pathway to sobriety, but a roadmap to a life authentically lived.”
